There should be at least one review panel for each year to monitor the progress of postgraduate (research) students. The panel may consists of at least three (3) panel members. It will relieve some pressure from supervisors and put more pressure on students to show some genuine progress in their research. Strict review progress to postgraduate students would definitely improve the quality of our graduates and result in higher number of publications. This initiative can be implemented to the scholarship holders first.

The suggestion will be forwarded to all faculties. For information, the evaluation of postgraduate student’s progress (research mode) has been noted by all faculties through the JAPSU meeting. The evaluation of postgraduate student’s progress (research mode) is reported three times a year by faculties in the JAPSU meeting.
