1. Artificial Football Pitch (AFP) is a modern style of football pitch with low maintenance and suitable for Malaysian whether and climate. It’s an artificial grass and no need to cut and maintain the grass regularly;
2. We should build at least one AFP for public usage and rental charges can be up to RM400 for day use and RM800 for night use. Usage is for two hours;
3. We can develop the artificial pitch at the abundant football field such as at KDSE and Kolej 9. Probably we can use this as the cost to build in new places will cost a lot;
4. The usage of AFP can also support the open campus concept which allow public to use the universities facility and for us to get closer to the community. As we notice, the only AFP is located at JDT Training Centre and it is not open to public. Football pitch for local league is also limited in Johor Bahru. The development of AFP will increase the demand and bring a lots of income for UTM;
5. The only public AFP near to UTM is in Taman Megah Pontian under Majlis Daerah Pontian which is 40km from UTM and the charges is around RM1,400 (plus deposit).
