Educating the Community

The objective of my idea is to educate the surrounding community. It is our responsibility to disseminate knowledge to the people. Most of the ideas and information we obtained were circulated in our own niche or academic world. Ordinary citizen who are not aware of what we are doing in university might have no clue. Thus, I appreciate if the management could implement certain system like giving free lecture to the community. This kind of thing has been practised by Yale University. They are giving free class to community during weekends. Does not have to be in formal way. It can just be in informal way like giving a lecture about a topic in science or engineering in very simple language, jargons excluded. With this, we are not living in ‘isolated’ world. We must approach the society, tell them what benefits they might obtain from our research or what we can advise them. Hopefully, it can nurture young people to be interested in seeking knowledge.
